The North Haven SLSC takes great pride in keeping it’s beach, plus the coast from Taperoo to Semaphore Jetty, safe for those members of the public who wish to enjoy it.
Always swim between the flags where possible.
However, we can’t be there all the time, so while there are no lifesavers on the beach, we encourage everyone to maintain the surf safety ideals we adhere to;
The North Haven Surf Life Saving Club will provide you free training to become a patrolling member!
There are many pathways to become a lifesaver and of course a lot of people aspire to complete a Bronze Medallion - which is the mainstay of the surf lifesaving movement. However, did you know that you can become a ‘Drone’ pilot and fly one our surveillance drones or, become a Radio Operator and assist with incident and site control in an emergency? Alternatively if you have your First Aid Certificate and CPR qualification (delivered by a Registered Training Organisation) you can join us straight away as a First Aider and commence patrols. Don’t have your First Aid Certificate yet but are still keen to patrol and give back to the community? No problem - North Haven SLSC will coordinate with Surf Lifesaving South Australia and will train you for free to the national recognition standard. Resuscitation and first aid are skills that you never know when you may be required to use, and are certainly a skill that all Australian lifesavers pride themselves on. Do not hesitate to contact our Captain of Lifesaving via captainlifesaving@northhavenslsc.com.au if you have any questions.
